The Refuge at Stone Bowl Farm

A residential community of artists, healers, spiritual practitioners, gardeners, makers, and builders creating a thriving, resilient, interdependent cohort that supports growth, spirituality, wellness and creativity.

Stone Bowl Farm offers live/work space for those who want to live in a rural community, working and creating together, while contributing to the Farm and it’s offerings. Based on the concepts of Ayni (reciprocity) and the ethos of the farm, residents at the Refuge are building interdependent lives on the land by sharing resources, skills, talents and labor. Your commitment, passion, contribution, and ethics are of utmost importance. While community life is at the center, you are also free to develop interests and work off the farm.

Currently, there is space for up to 5 tiny homes, campers, vans, or tents from May-October. There is no existing housing available except for a small bell tent, for an additional fee. All residents have access to all facilities and a communal kitchen.

WHEN

The Refuge is open from May 1- November 1. You may choose to stay for one month periods or the full season. If you have a self-contained tiny home or camper and wish to stay longer, we can discuss those arrangements after a trial period. Some winter housing may be available.

WHO

Self-directed, mature people with a strong work ethic, good communication skills, energy, and a passion for spirituality, wellness, creating and contributing, and a deep desire to be a part of the farm . We are especially looking for people who have skills in the following areas:

• Gardening/Permaculture/Forestry

• Carpentry/Plumbing/Electric

• Food preservation/herbal preparation

• Wellness teachers/therapists

• Artists/Makers/Doers

COST

All residents contribute a small rental fee to cover utilities per month in exchange for 10 hours of work per week on the farm, including gardening, landscaping, building and supporting events. Some food from the gardens will be supplied.
